The Story | Faith

For some of you, this may be “old new” but never the less, it’s always good news and we constantly need to be reminded of this wonderful event.

John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Isn’t that a beautiful verse?

We were born into a sinful world. Every day we sin. If we look around social media, watch the news, listen to people, watch movies, there is sin everywhere. We can’t escape it. But we can choose a better life. A life where we realize we have sinned and ask God for forgiveness. God gave Moses the 10 Commandments and this is a guideline for sin.

1. Do Not Have No Other Gods but Me

2. Do Not Make For Yourself an Idol

3. Do Not Misuse the Name of the Lord Your God

4. Remember the Sabbath Day and Keep it Holy

5. Honor Your Father and Mother

6. Do Not Commit Murder

7. Do Not Commit Adultery

8. Do Not Steal

9. Do Not Give False Testimony Against Your Neighbor

10. Do Not Covet Your Neighbor

Now don’t think these 10 things is the only way you can sin. Each of these have subcategories where even more sin can occur. We need to be on guard daily when it comes to who we are around, what we are watching, what we are listening to and how we act or handle situations.

Do you know what the good thing is though? Thousands of years ago, God sent His son to die on a cross to forgive of us our sins. So every sin that you have already committed, are committing and have yet to commit are already forgiven. Do you know anyone in your life who would be willing to die for you? God loved you so much that He sent His son to die so that you may live. That’s true love. If we put our faith in Him, ask Him to forgive us of our sins and live a life God-honoring, we will get to live in Paradise. How amazing is that?

Romans 5:8 says “but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

If you want to read the entire story, I encourage you to read Matthew 27.
