Have you ever wondered how to survive labor without medication? Women tend to fear labor because they know there will be a tremendous amount of pain involved. If you’ve never had a baby before, you have no idea what to expect and that can scare you all the more. Maybe I’m just weird, but I was so excited for labor. Go ahead, call me crazy! I thought it was going to be the most beautiful and amazing experience and I was so excited for it. Maybe that was the trick. Maybe because I had such a positive attitude about the event, that I was somehow able to block the pain. Trust me, there was pain, a whole lot of pain. I did some crying, but I enjoyed it. In my head, it was a happy pain. Here are some things that worked for me during labor.
- Positive Attitude
- Use a yoga ball or peanut ball. That significantly helped speed up my labor.
- Close your eyes and focus on your breathing during contractions
- It might sound stupid, but give yourself pep talks. “I can do it, I can do it, Just breath.”
- Pray. Just simply talk to God during labor
