I’m not talking about your coffee cup ladies. I’m talking about your inner cup, the one only God can fill. Every mom knows that the only time she can be a great mom is when she fills her cup. If you want to have a good day, to be patient, to be loving and understanding. It all begins with spending some quiet time in the morning in God’s word and just talking to Him. The past few days I’ve failed at that because Michael has waken up extra early, but I try to spend some quiet time with Him every morning before I get out of bed. When I’ve read a devotional, a scripture verse and prayed, I have a new found determination. He gives us the strength and courage to tackle anything life throws at you and sometimes being a mom, you may get things thrown at you, which is where spending time with God can help prepare you to stay calm in that situation.
Nobody is perfect, trust me, I’m nowhere close. But I feel closer to that “perfection” when I’m right with God. When I’ve started my day on a positive note with Him. Make is a priority to wake up before you child. Don’t let them be your alarm clock, it’s easy to get in that habit, I’ve been there. One day I had a realization that I needed to wake up before Michael. That if I woke up before him I would be able to spend time reading and talking to God. I’ve found there are days where I feel like I could just “lose it.” That I could lose my patience and go off any second; which leads to be wholeheartedly believe that it’s because on those days, I didn’t spend time with the Lord.
I’m going to try to do my very best to fill my cup up every morning so that I’m on the right track with the Lord and then can be ready to handle anything life throws at me.
